چکیده مقاله:
In this paper, the use of low cost, recycle waste and eco-friendly adsorbent has been investigated as an alternative method for replacement of currently expensive method for removing dye from wastewater. Experiments were carried out as a function of contact time, initial concentration, adsorption dosage and pH. The results indicated that the pseudo-second-order model (Adsorption kinetic) was best applicable to the sorption data. Dyes are widely used in industries such as textile, rubber, paper, plastic, pharmaceuticals etc [1]. These industrial discharges are highly colored with high Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) as well as Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) [2]. Since the removal of dyes from wastewater is considered an environmental challenge and government legislation requires textile wastewater to be treated, therefore there is a constant need to have an effective process that can efficiently remove these dyes[3]. The industrial wastewater usually contains a variety of organic compounds and toxic substances which are harmful to fish and other aquatic. It is well known that textile industries, pulp mills and dyestuff manufacturing discharge highly colored wastewaters which have provoked serious environmental concerns all over the world [4]. Dyes can be classified as anionic (direct, acid, and reactive dyes), cationic (basic dyes) and non-ionic (disperse dyes) [5].
